Porn. The reason the internet was invented.

Okay, I can’t confirm that for a fact but it certainly seems that way sometimes.

With Google safe search off, almost everything you search online will turn up something eye-catchingly nasty. I mean, you can’t even Google image search a woman’s hair color and pull up results that are safe for work.

Now, I’m not here to condemn adult entertainment, the performers, or the fans. Just like alcohol, artificial sweeteners, and good cigars, occasional use is harmless and fun.

What I’m talking about is abuse…like when you are hitting up Redtube.com more than you are hitting up new women for dates.

Or worse, if have the chance to be with real women but are spending more time with your “online girlfriends,” that’s an even bigger problem.

I know you maybe don’t want to read on (which means possibly cutting back on “happy time” at your computer desk), but hear me out for a second!

1. Body Image Issues

Sure, there are a few clips floating around the net of heavier guys in hardcore videos with young, attractive women, but they are in the minority.

What’s more prevalent? The tanned, ripped, and tattooed guy who maybe is packing a .45 when the rest of us have a .38 or .22 (note: I’m not talking about guns).

The problem here is that you may watch these videos and feel bad about yourself after.

What bad thoughts might cross your mind?

  • You don’t have a six pack stomach.
  • You don’t have a perfectly proportionate and muscled physique.
  • You are pale and you have more hair on your body than on your head.

You know what’s funny though?

Most of the guys on the planet don’t look like that but rather, have a wide range of looks and shapes that can be complimented by different clothing choices.

By watching so many guys with “perfect” bodies, you may forget this fact.

The worst part is that your new body image issues may stop you from talking to that hot girl at the Barnes & Noble who likes you just the way you are.

2. Desensitization

For most guys, the nightly ritual of getting cyber-stimulated follows the same pattern.

It’s the same few sites. It’s the same position. It’s the same habit of fast-forwarding past all the silly plot lines and cuing up the clip to the good stuff.

The problem here is that you…I mean, other guys train their bodies to respond to a narrow set of intense stimuli.

When you have trained your body to respond only in a very specific way, it’s like training a dog to lay down and play dead (and nothing else). It’s no fun when that dog can’t do any other tricks.

It’s also no fun when a certain part of you will only lay down and play dead because you have been overdoing it with your online viewing rituals.

3. Loss of Will to Hunt

Thinking about going out to meet some friends for pizza and beer on a Friday night?

No, wait. You have a six pack of Guinness in the fridge and you can just pop a DiGiorno’s rising crust pie in the oven. Stay in.

Thinking about going to the movies? No, wait. You can just stream something on Netflix or watch an OnDemand flick from your cable provider.

Thinking about meeting some friends out at a pub and maybe talking to some new women? No, wait. You have the internet. It’s a sure thing.

Okay, I think you get the picture here.

I just hope that you understand that I’m not telling you to quit cold turkey.

What I am telling you is that with no porn, you may suddenly become really interested in finding REAL women in your own vicinity.

When this happens, you have just made a great step in the direction of fewer cold and lonely nights.
